How do I export my contacts?
You can download your contacts as a spreadsheet at any time. It’s handy for backups, reporting, or adding people to your email marketing tool.
How to export
- In the side menu, click Contacts.
- At the top right, click Export.
- Choose who to include: All Contacts, Clients Only (active and inactive clients), Prospects Only or Buyers Only.
- Your file downloads straight away.
The file is a CSV, so it opens in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers.
What’s in the file
- Name, email and phone
- Type: Active Client, Inactive Client, Buyer or Prospect
- Source: how they found you, such as Public Booking, Store Purchase, Invitation or Contact Request (see What happens if someone contacts me?)
- Tags you’ve added
- Time zone, portal status and onboarding status
- The date they were added
Adding your contacts to an email tool
Most email tools, such as Mailchimp, Kit and MailerLite, let you import a CSV:
- Open your file and delete anything you don’t need. Most tools only need First Name, Last Name and Email.
- In your email tool, find the option to import contacts, and upload your CSV.
- Match each column to the right field.
- Use Type or Tags to keep clients and prospects on separate lists.
Only email people who said yes
Before you add anyone to a mailing list, make sure they agreed to hear from you. Booking a call or buying from you isn’t the same as signing up for your newsletter. A friendly way to ask: send a personal note inviting them to join, or offer a free gift that signs them up.
