How to continue the coaching relationship after a package ends

LCH isnโ€™t built like a subscription service. Your clients donโ€™t hit an automatic โ€œrenewal momentโ€ where their subscription expires and they have to re-sign up. They just keep purchasing sessions and packages from you for as long as theyโ€™re getting value. Like a punch card.

This is actually one of LCHโ€™s quiet strengths. Thereโ€™s no awkward โ€œyour subscription is about to expireโ€ moment to navigate. The relationship just continues. Hereโ€™s how to keep it that way.

What stays in place

When a client finishes a package with you, nothing about their experience changes:

  • Their portal still works
  • Their Coaching Pad still shows their full history
  • Every Goal they set, every Coaching Plan they filled in, every shared note, every action item they checked off, every journal entry they shared with you, all of it lives in their folder forever
  • No re-invite needed
  • No re-login needed

The client doesnโ€™t have to do anything to stay in the system. Theyโ€™re already there.

How to start the next conversation

If the client isnโ€™t already actively talking to you about continuing, the move is light:

Send them an in-app message through LCH messaging. Reference something specific from the work you did together, and suggest a specific next step:

โ€œHey, you finished out your six sessions last week. I was thinking about what you said about wanting to keep building on the boundaries work, the [Quarterly Reset package] might be a fit for what youโ€™re working on. Take a look in your portal when youโ€™ve got a sec.โ€

The client will find anything you mention by name right inside their portal. So you donโ€™t need to send links or instructions. Just point and they can purchase or enroll.

Sending a renewal-specific Welcome Package

If the next phase deserves a more formal opening, you can send a renewal-specific Welcome Package. Build one once (see โ€œHow to create different Welcome Packages for different client typesโ€) and use it any time a client moves from one package to another with you.

A renewal Welcome Package might include:

  • A fresh coaching agreement for the next chapter
  • A re-set of goals (what do you want to focus on this time?)
  • A reflection worksheet on what they accomplished in the last package
  • Resources tailored to the new program

Same flow as the original Welcome Package: email with link, e-signed agreement, stored in their folder alongside everything else.

Want an ongoing subscription instead? Look at a Membership

Everything above is the punch-card way: clients buy the next thing when they’re ready, with no recurring billing. But some coaches want a steady subscription instead, an ongoing space clients stay in month after month rather than buying package by package. That’s what a Membership is for.

A Membership is your own monthly or yearly subscription that clients join. You decide what’s inside (your content library, your courses, your coaching tools), set a price, and clients are billed automatically until they cancel. When someone wraps up a package, inviting them into your Membership is a natural “let’s keep going” move: instead of a one-off next purchase, they slide into an ongoing relationship with you, and you get predictable recurring income.

It’s a different shape from the punch card, not a replacement. Plenty of coaches will run both: packages for deep one-to-one work, and a Membership for the ongoing community and resources around it.

What makes this feel like continuation instead of restart

The combination of โ€œeverything stays where it wasโ€ plus โ€œyou can suggest the next step in one messageโ€ plus โ€œan optional fresh Welcome Package if it deserves oneโ€ means the renewal moment is the opposite of a sales pitch.

The client sees their own history. They see how far theyโ€™ve come. Theyโ€™re already invested in the relationship. When you suggest the next step, youโ€™re not selling, youโ€™re inviting them to keep going.

Thatโ€™s a much warmer conversation than โ€œyour subscription expires Friday, click here to renew.โ€

Final takeaway

The best renewal is the one that doesnโ€™t feel like one. LCHโ€™s structure (no subscription clock, history that lives forever, easy next-package suggestion) is designed so clients continue with you because the work continues, not because a deadline forced them to choose.
