What is an order bump and how do I add one to my checkout?
An order bump is a small extra offer that shows up right on your checkout page, with a tick box to add it. Think “Add the Goal-Setting Workbook for $17” when someone books a coaching package. Clients are already buying, so a relevant add-on is an easy yes.
How to set it up
- In the left menu, click Offers, then Order Bumps.
- Click Create a new order bump.
- Under Bump product, choose the offer you want to sell as the add-on. A digital product or a single session works well.
- Check the Order bump name. It fills in from the product, and you can change it.
- Under Discount, choose No discount, Percentage or Fixed amount. You’ll see what the customer pays.
- Under Show this bump when these products are in the cart, pick the offers that should show it. Leave everything off to show it on every checkout.
- Add a Bump description if you like.
- If you have more than one bump, set a Priority. Lower numbers show first.
- Under Publication settings, choose Published.
- Click Create Bump.
That’s it. Order bumps show up on your checkout automatically.
How to manage your bumps
Go to Offers › Order Bumps and open the action menu next to a bump to Edit, Publish or Unpublish, Clone, Archive or Delete it.
How to change how bumps look
- Open your checkout designer (My Store › Checkout Pages › Modify standard checkout).
- Click the Order Bump block and change the colors, spacing and borders.
- Click Save Checkout.
Good to know
- What the client sees: your bump name, the product image, your description, the price, and an Add to order tick box.
- One payment: the bump is charged together with the main offer.
- Up to 5 bumps can show on one checkout. Clients never see a bump for something they already own.
