How do I create a coupon code?

Coupons let you give a discount with a simple code, like SPRING20. They work well for launches, holiday promos, thank-you offers for past clients, or a sliding-scale price. A good coupon can be the nudge that turns “maybe later” into a new client.

How to set it up

1. In the left menu, click Offers, then Coupons.
2. Click Create a new coupon.
3. In Coupon Code, type your code (at least 3 characters).
4. Pick an Expiration Date.
5. Under Discount Type, choose Percent off or Amount off, then enter the Discount Value.
6. Under Applies To, choose All products, or choose Specific product types and pick the types you want. To limit it to certain offers, click Choose specific items under a type.
7. Click Add new coupon.

Share the code with your clients, along with a link to your Public Store or the offer.

How to edit or delete a coupon

Go to Offers › Coupons, open the action menu next to the coupon, and click Edit or Delete.

Good to know

• What your client sees: a Coupon code (optional) box with an Apply button at checkout. You can rename both (see How do I customize my checkout page?).
• Expiry: a coupon works through the end of its expiration date, then moves to your Expired tab. For a coupon that runs indefinitely, pick a date far in the future.
• For one person only: use a unique code with a short expiry date.
• 100% off: the client skips payment and gets the offer right away.
