How do I get paid by my clients? How does invoicing and billing work?

You have a number of options regarding how you get paid for your coaching sessions. You’ll see these show up when you go to book a session.

Payment in advance

  • Your clients can pay in advance by buying individual sessions or coaching packages from your Public Store. Then either you or your client can book sessions. This is sort of like a gym punch card.
  • If they run out of sessions, your client can buy more.
  • Or you can schedule the session anyways and they can get a reminder. You can choose that the session will be converted to pro bono if they don’t pay before the session, or that it be cancelled. The two choices when booking are:
    • Reminder to pay with cancellation: Schedule this session. A reminder will be sent to my client to prepay and if they don’t, the session will be canceled.
    • Reminder to pay: Schedule this session. A reminder will be sent to my client to prepay, but the session will not be canceled if they don’t pay (this session will become pro bono at that point).

Payment through an alternate method

  • You can invoice them another way of your choice. In this case, just select the option “Alternate payment method: I will be using alternate billing. (No invoice will be sent)”

Payment after the session is over

  • You can have us send an invoice after your session. We’ll send it out automatically. Select the option “Invoicing post session: Send an invoice after the session that my client can pay.”

To have clients pay in advance, you will have to have your Stripe connected.
