Making time for exercise is one of the most important aspects of getting your own health in order.
Lots of people say that they would love to work out, lose weight or get healthy, but they also say that they simply don’t have the time. These individuals claim they are too busy to lose weight, but that really isn’t true!
Someone may not have as much time as they’d like to dedicate to fitness, but they actually do have time – everyone does. Fitness is such a vital part of physical and mental well-being, it is necessary that you find time for fitness. Stop using how busy you are as an excuse to keep up your bad habits. You DO have time for fitness, and these tips should help you find it.
Prioritize
How important is fitness to you, and how important should it be? If you are very heavy to the point that your health is noticeably deteriorating, getting rid of all the extra weight needs to become your greatest priority. If you only need to tone up a bit before swimsuit season, fitness is still important, but in doesn’t need to be your number one priority all the time.
Multi-task
Research suggests that exercise is most effective when someone is not multitasking. It seems the best results come when the only activity being done is the exercise. Sure you want the best results, but any results are normally much better than no results at all.
Since you are so busy, you can do other things while you work out to maximize your time. You can read while on a stationary bike. You can watch television while running on a treadmill. You could even listen to inspirational audio or informative audio books while lifting weights. As long as your multitasking isn’t dangerously distracting from your fitness activity, go for it.
Remember the little things
With fitness, everything counts. Taking the stairs to your office instead of the elevator will help you burn off a few extra calories with enough trips. Three minutes of sit ups in the morning while you are waiting for water to boil could end up resulting in tight, toned abs. You could do squats while brushing your teeth. You could even do calf raises while waiting in line at the supermarket. Consider traversing your home by doing lunges. You might not be able to find time for a full workout, but you could end up getting one throughout the day.
Wake up
If you really can’t find the time anywhere, sacrifice a teeny, tiny bit of sleep. Get up ten minutes early in the morning. Those ten minutes won’t mean that much for your level of alertness and tiredness, but it could mean a lot for your health if you spend that time on a physical activity. This little bit of morning exercise should help you to feel more alert and energized throughout the day, more than making up for the ten minutes you missed under the sheets.

Every little bit can help, so if you found the time to read this article, you definitely have the time for a few pushups and maybe a couple of crunches.
