How to Get the Most Out of Self-Hypnosis
You have to accept the concept of hypnosis if it is going to work for you.
Self-hypnosis can be a fantastic tool. If you want to lose weight, quit smoking, build self-esteem or achieve almost any goal, hypnosis and self-hypnosis can be extremely helpful. Self-hypnosis recordings are a personal favorite, and a lot of people are very successful with them. There are certain small steps you can take to make sure that you get the most out of these recordings and see the best results.
Make it a habit
Listen to your recording every day. You want to integrate listening to your recording into your daily routine. By listening to your recording every day at the same time, you do two things. The first is that you become “addicted” to it; as you close in on the time to listen to your recording, your brain will start to crave the message, making the suggestions go deeper into your subconscious. The second is that it becomes harder for you to forget to listen to your recording or to skip a day. I recommend listening to your recording first thing in the morning or right before bed.
Wear headphones
Often the self-hypnosis and the suggestions are more than enough to keep the outside world out. Wearing headphones when you listen to your recording offer extra insurance. When you listen to your recording through a set of noise-cancelling headphones, there is less of a chance that outside noise will disturb you and send your thoughts careening off somewhere else.
Turn off the phone
Telephones and doorbells are loud, startling and they take most people out of their hypnotic state almost instantly. While you might not want to put a sign on your door telling people to go away, you can turn off the ringer on your phone.

Ask for peace
If you live with a child, roommate, spouse or anyone else, you need to be sure to ask them (in the nicest possible manner, of course) to leave you alone when you are listening to your recording. Nothing is more distracting than one of your loved ones bursting open a closed door and asking why you weren’t just responding when they were calling you. While you don’t have to announce to your household what you are doing, ask them for a few moments without being disturbed.
Final thoughts
These tips don’t ensure success with you self-hypnosis recording, but they can certainly help. It is also a great idea to make sure you are using a program that you enjoy – that includes liking the speaker’s tone of voice and accent. Investing in one of these recordings shows a desire to change, develop or grow, and by committing to it and following these tips it shows that you are seriously dedicated to being a better you.
