Clearing and Focusing With Hakalau: A Short Guide

Hakalau focusing is a technique I use personally and with my clients, and I find it incredibly effective.

  • Get into a comfortable position – sitting or standing.
  • Find a spot on the wall you can focus on easily, and stare at it directly, breathing easily.
  • Now as your keep your focus on that spot and without moving your eyes, begin to expand your awareness of what you can see in your peripheral vision.
  • Keep expanding your awareness until you can take in180 degrees or as close as you can get.
  • You’ll know its working when you feel your mind is clearing and you have a strong sense of calm.
  • The more you practice this technique the easer and more effective it will become.
