How to overcome distress
Distress can quickly become overwhelming and sometimes even debilitating. The following list demonstrates how to deal with distress by overcoming stressful thoughts:
- Failure is a part of the learning process, it does not mean that I am a failure or worthless
- Know that this too shall pass
- I am not any real danger
- Nobody is perfect
- My feelings will not kill me
- I have experience much worse than this and survived
- I am stronger than i sometimes believe I am
- The way that I am feeling is completely natural
- I am not a bad person
- This is an opportunity to challenge myself and grow
