How to Find Balance In Life: Three Easy Steps

How to find balance in life

As entrepreneurs, mothers, fathers and career oriented people, the key challenges for us is to find free time. Trying to balance all the hats you wear in your daily activities can be overwhelming and leave you frustrated.

You find yourself juggling too many obligations and tasks and at the end of the day you not only feel like you didn’t get anything done, but haven’t done anything for yourself.

Sound familiar?

In order to tame the chaos and start feeling productive and have self-care builid into our routine, means mastering three easy steps.

1. Look at your day-to-day activities and make a note of what is draining your energy.

What on your agenda filled with tasks is leaving you tired, drained and heavy? Then resturcture how much time you are spending on them. Give them time limits so you can focus on other activities that light you up.

2. What are you tolerating in your life?

Make a list of what you are tolerating. This is not a complete list but a nice start:

  • Incomplete tasks
  • Frustrations
  • Problems
  • Behaviors of yourself and others
  • Unmet needs
  • People crossing the line
  • Guilt
  • Eating habits
  • Being indecisive
  • Procrastination
  • Lack of Sleep
  • Lack of time for yourself

What are you tolerating that you could either reduce or put a stop to it?

3. Restructure your week with your ideal vision of what you are working on and who you are meeting with.

Plan your ideal week in advance with focus time for projects and the times you are engaging with people. When working with a client or engaging with family give it a time limit and explain that you have other obligations to fulfill. If you don’t respect your schedule, no one else will either.

Now take note of the free time you have created. Now you have time to do activities that connect with yourself and nurture you to the fullest.

Your productivity and self-love will thank you!
