About Me
You may be holding everything together on the outside while feeling uncertain about what you need or which direction to take. I offer a supportive space to slow down, listen to yourself and move forward with greater clarity.
I'm Sara Somasca, founder of BASE YOGA, a somatic and body-mind coach, mindfulness coach and yoga teacher based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I support women navigating life transitions, relationship uncertainty, self-doubt and the challenge of setting boundaries.
My approach brings together reflective conversation, mindfulness and gentle body awareness. Before creating BASE YOGA, I spent nearly ten years working in social work in Italy. That experience shaped my respect for each person's circumstances, strengths and ability to make their own choices.
We work together to understand what matters to you and turn that awareness into practical next steps. I offer coaching in person in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and online, in English and Italian. Visit my website to learn more about my approach and working together.

Results & Goals
Our work begins with what you want to change. Depending on your goals, we may focus on:
• Recognizing your needs, values and patterns.
• Building self-trust when making difficult decisions.
• Practicing boundaries that support your well-being.
• Developing mindful ways to respond to everyday stress.
• Navigating transitions with greater clarity and agency.
• Turning insight into realistic actions and sustainable self-care.
We choose goals together and revisit them as your needs evolve. Progress is personal; I offer support and accountability without promising a particular outcome.
How I like to coach
My coaching style is warm, collaborative and grounded in your choices. We begin with what feels most relevant to you, then explore it through thoughtful questions, reflection and practical exercises.
When helpful, I invite mindfulness, gentle breath awareness or attention to bodily sensations. You can adapt, pause or decline any practice. No yoga or meditation experience is needed.
You remain the expert on your life. My role is to help you notice possibilities, clarify your own decisions and identify manageable next steps. Sessions can include reflection and small practices to explore between meetings.
Coaching supports personal growth and well-being; it does not provide psychotherapy, diagnosis or medical treatment.

Professional and life experience
Before founding BASE YOGA, I spent nearly ten years working in social work in Italy, supporting people and families through complex circumstances and periods of change. I hold a degree in Social Work from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan.
Living between cultures and building a new life in Puerto Rico have also deepened my appreciation of transition, identity and belonging. Today, I bring that experience together with mindfulness, yoga and body-mind practices to support personal growth, self-awareness and everyday choices.
My work is grounded in respect, collaboration and each person's capacity to choose their own direction.
