The 30000 Foot View: How to Find Clarity of Purpose with Spiritual Connection

Woman on top of a mountain 30,000 foot view

Everyone deals with stressful times very differently. The world today is very uncertain for many. What does the future hold?

Finding purpose with a spiritual connection beyond the material

If you continue to seek more and more goods, then maybe you are not filling your need.

Some people go the buy material things route to find some comfort in the world. But is it material goods that are really sought? There is nothing wrong with having new and improved things. If you can fill a need that way, that’s ok. But if you continue to seek more and more goods, then maybe you are not filling your need. Is it in truth more spirituality you seek?

When I say spirituality, I don’t mean in a religious sort of way. I mean in a relating to the world in a meaningful way.

I think of spirituality as a get in touch with people and nature. Ever since the internet became a part of everyday life for most of us, the trend for increased disconnect between people has become a greater reality. We interact more on social media. We stay at home and order just about anything and have it delivered. This new trend has people feeling empty, alone, and lost. All the gadgets we purchase are what we turn to instead of people in person.

As an empath, I crave a lot of alone time. I love being home. But I also know how important it is to keep in contact with people in person. I have that one friend with whom I make an effort to see regularly.

A lot of people seem to feel they are living in darkness and seek the light. The light is there. We just don't notice. Lisa M. Yerington Coaching Quote

Finding a light to guide you in your purpose

A lot of people seem to feel they are living in darkness and seek the light. The light is there. We just don’t notice.

Think of it this way. Imagine a nice sunny day. If you turn on a light in your home in the morning, you don’t really notice, do you? The sun after all is bringing a lot of light into the house. But as evening rolls around, the sun goes down, and stops filling the house with natural light. And now you see the light you turned on that morning. It was always on.

Seeing the world from the 30000 foot view

In the last few years, I started to really understand the need to see the world from what some call the 30,000 foot view. The world looks a lot different from 30,000 feet up than it does at ground level. It is really difficult to see the world at all from ground level. Your view is really quite limited from ground level. So, how do you get that 30,000 view?

For many years, I would say forty or more, I DID depression. I say did depression because it is an action to fill a need. More on that another time.

One of the things I did was to climb to the top of a mountain. Okay, it was more of very large hill. It was early. It was before sunrise when I hiked. I was seeking a peaceful morning. I was seeking to connect with nature in a meaningful way.

Like all darkness it did not want the light to expose the beauty of the world. But the light overcame the darkness and the day had its dawning.

I got to the top and sat. And the sun began to peer over the horizon. As it did, it felt like a spot-light right on me. It was as if the sun was saying hello to me and me alone. The darkness of the night tried to resist. Like all darkness it did not want the light to expose the beauty of the world. But the light overcame the darkness and the day had its dawning.

When you learn to become more connected to other people again and to nature and the world in general, it is like a dawning. It is a spiritual dawning. We all stumble in darkness from time to time. For some, it may be more like trying to go through quicksand.

But when we learn to see the light that is around us, our insight brightens the path before us. You become lifted spiritually. It does not just happen. You have to force the dawning so to speak.

You have to make an effort.

How?

When we learn to see the light that is around us, our insight brightens the path before us. Lisa M. Yerington Coaching Quote

Finding your techniques to help guide you

Our world is filled with teachers. We may not always recognize them as teachers, but they are there.

Well, our world is filled with teachers. We may not always recognize them as teachers, but they are there. Actually, they are sprinkled throughout our world. We just have to pay attention. They are not those who entertain though some are entertaining. They are not those who present well organized and motivating speeches, though some of them do. It is not a lifestyle that can identify them for that may not be genuine.

So, what is the answer to how to identify them? It is what they do to get you to learn. These are people with many interests. They are curious about life. They find many things to be fascinating and interesting. They will demand that you theorize to come up with the answers yourself. They will demand that you create understanding.

But don’t fret. They will show you how. They will guide you. They will help you to navigate through your life quest.

How to find clarity of purpose with spiritual connection

The way to your spiritual connection

It will take a lot of effort on your part. It is a challenge to become more spiritual. It is a challenge to lift your self up spiritually. It is challenging to teach spirituality. It is challenging to learn. But it is a challenge worth taking. It is an accomplishment like no other. It is a demanding and exacting challenge.

Your knowledge will expand. You will become less certain as you learn the new concepts. The old ideas will resist being questioned. You may become restless as you inquire more. Your old easy assumptions will be challenged. Your familiar and comfortable prejudices will be challenged by doubt and concern at times. The conformist opinions you may have will be replaced by unpopular belief at times. Apathy will be replaced by principled action.

You can make that climb to a very high place. You can view the dawning of a new day from the “30,000” foot level.

That wise guru you think is at the top of the mountain, or very large hill can be you. You can make that climb to a very high place. You can view the dawning of a new day from the “30,000” foot level.

I urge you to do so. The climb is long and arduous. The risks of the climb are many. But the climb is exhilarating and the view is spectacular.
