Hey, I’m a coach!

Coaching to declutter your life, organize your goals, and cook up a sustainable recipe for success

About Me

Hello, I'm Terrie Hein, and I believe that every person deserves a life they can truly savor. Just as a great recipe balances the right ingredients with a clear process, a fulfilling life is created with intention. I founded Cooking Growth Life Coaching to help individuals and families declutter the chaos, gain clarity on their passions, and create a delicious and sustainable recipe for success.

My own journey has been my most valuable training. As a neurospicy wife, mother, and grandmother, I’ve navigated many of life’s messy kitchens, especially when supporting loved ones who are "neurospicy." These experiences have shown me that a one-size-fits-all approach to life just doesn't work. Instead, I believe our unique differences are our greatest strengths—our secret ingredients.

My coaching practice is built on a diverse foundation of training and lived experience:

  1. Insight Coaching: As a Certified Insight Coach, I help clients look inward to understand how their brains work. We learn to work with our natural tendencies, not against them, creating a recipe that feels authentic and manageable.
  2. Decluttering Expert: I am passionate about helping clients declutter their lives—from physical belongings to mental clutter. Clearing our external and internal spaces is often the first step to making room for what truly matters.
  3. Supporting Life Transitions: As a doula, I have supported women through the intense transitions of pregnancy and postpartum. As a "Seasoned Adult," I've navigated my own transitions through marriage, parenting, empty nesting, and grief. This experience helps me guide clients through their own major life pivots.
  4. Faith-Based Perspective: With a background as a minister and a certification as a Biblical Life Coach, I offer a faith-based approach for those seeking guidance from a spiritual perspective.
  5. Family-Focused: My experience in Early Childhood Education gives me a deep understanding of developmental milestones, allowing me to better support youth and families.

In our work together, I'll be your supportive life coach—someone who cheers you on, helps you find the right ingredients, and offers the tools and accountability to create lasting change. We’ll celebrate your unique flavors, find your rhythm, and cook up a life that you can easily maintain and joyfully enjoy.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you craft your own recipe for success.

Coaching with me

Results & Goals

The overarching goals are to help clients declutter their lives, create a clear "recipe" for success, and find joy and sustainability in their new habits. The results are highly personalized, but consistently revolve around improving self-awareness, reducing overwhelm, and building a more intentional life

Overarching goals for all clients

  1. Gain profound self-awareness: Through Insight coaching, clients stop fighting against their unique way of thinking and start working with it, leading to a deeper understanding of themselves.
  2. Clear mental and emotional clutter: This goes beyond physical tidiness to reduce feelings of overwhelm and anxiety.
  3. Develop a personalized "recipe" for success: I help clients identify their core values and priorities, then build a custom plan that works for their individual needs.
  4. Achieve sustainable results: The focus is on building long-term habits and systems that are easy to maintain, rather than a quick fix.
  5. Embrace unique strengths: Instead of viewing personal differences as flaws, clients learn to celebrate them as their "secret ingredients" for a fulfilling life.

For clients in life transition

  1. Clearer vision for the future: Clients gain perspective on where they are now and intentionally design the next chapter of their lives.
  2. Empowered decision-making: I help clients make decisions that align with their core values during a time of great uncertainty.
  3. Reduced stress and anxiety: By addressing the emotional baggage that often accompanies major change, clients navigate their transition with more ease.
  4. Renewed purpose: As they clear old patterns and make room for new ones, clients discover a renewed sense of purpose and direction

For ADHD clients

  1. Improved organization and time management: Clients learn strategies to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and reduce distractions.
  2. Overcoming overwhelm: I help clients break down large tasks into smaller, manageable steps to combat feelings of being stuck or "ADHD paralysis".
  3. Enhanced emotional regulation: Clients gain techniques to manage impulsivity and frustration, leading to greater emotional stability.
  4. Increased self-worth and confidence: By celebrating small wins and focusing on progress, clients build a more positive self-image and combat feelings of shame.

For decluttering clients

  1. Calmer and more focused mind: Decluttering a space reduces visual distraction and cognitive overload, which improves focus and concentration.
  2. Feeling more in control: Taking control of their physical space gives clients a sense of mastery and reduces feelings of helplessness and anxiety.
  3. Boosted productivity and energy: With less stuff to manage, clients have more mental energy and find it easier to tackle their to-do lists.
  4. Reduced stress: Studies show a correlation between a cluttered environment and higher stress levels. Decluttering directly addresses this stressor.

Ultimately, the goal of Cooking Growth Life Coaching is to empower clients to become the head chef of their own lives. They will leave coaching with a clear understanding of their ingredients (strengths), a functional kitchen (organized life), and a refined recipe for creating a life they genuinely enjoy.

How I like to coach

My coaching style is compassionate, client-centered, and empowering, helping people tap into their own inner wisdom rather than relying on me for all the answers. I act as a supportive guide, not a dictator, creating a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore their goals. My approach is a unique blend of several methodologies, all grounded in my diverse personal and professional experience.

Key aspects of my coaching style

Empathetic and relationship-focused

  1. Active listening: I focus on deep listening and fostering a strong rapport with clients. I pay close attention to both what is said and unsaid to truly understand their unique needs.
  2. Celebrating strengths: I emphasize a client's positive attributes rather than dwelling on what's "wrong." This helps rebuild confidence and encourages a positive self-image, especially for clients with ADHD.
  3. Building a safe space: I provide a non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard and supported, helping them relax and be more receptive to their own insights.

Insight-based and empowering

  1. Client-driven solutions: As a Certified Insight Coach, I help clients uncover their own inner wisdom and arrive at their own conclusions. Instead of giving advice, I ask powerful questions that lead to transformative insights.
  2. Working with the brain: I guide clients to profound self-awareness so they can stop fighting against their own mental processes, such as with ADHD, and start working with them instead.
  3. Creating sustainable change: I focus on creating long-term, lasting change that clients can maintain on their own, rather than on quick fixes that are not sustainable.

Practical and holistic

  1. Actionable steps: I help clients move from realization to action. I break down large, overwhelming goals into manageable steps, creating a clear "recipe" for success.
  2. Holistic perspective: My diverse background, from a doula to a decluttering expert, allows me to offer a well-rounded and flexible approach. I help clients see how decluttering one area of life can positively impact another.
  3. Accountability partner: I offer accountability and support between sessions, keeping clients motivated and on track.

Faith-based (optional)

  1. Integration of faith: For clients who desire it, I can integrate a faith-based approach into my coaching. My background as a minister allows me to use spiritual principles to guide and support clients in aligning their goals with their values.

My coaching is fundamentally about helping clients discover their own strengths and wisdom so they can navigate life's challenges with confidence and joy.
