About Me
Hi! I'm Nina Slota. I've taught thousands of undergrads and grad students over the course of 20 years, but the part of teaching that I always loved (and I think my students appreciated) was sitting in my office and chatting with them between classes. Depending on the student, we'd work on academic success, academic advising, their post-graduation plans, graduate school applications, and/or life. I've heard it all!
I also have several health impairments/disabilities, so I enjoy working with people with various disabilities, as well.
Coaching with me
How I like to coach
I want you to be in control of the topic for the day and I want to help you find the solution that feels most authentic and do-able for you. By the time you leave a session, you'll have a 3 to 5 step action plan, and I'll have reminded you that although 100% success would be great, it's the attempt and not giving up that's important.

Professional and life experience
Academically, I have a PhD in Developmental Psychology and a concentration in Health Psychology; I am passionate about disability studies. I have taught undergrad and grad students for over twenty years, many of whom were first generation college students. My current research focuses on the life experiences of people with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), and/or POTS. I have several health conditions and am a cancer survivor, so I enjoy working with people with disabilities, too, whether or not they are college students.
