How I like to coach

How I Like to Coach

Most career coaches don't go deep enough. They hand you personality quizzes and self-assessments and move on. That's not clarity. Real self-knowledge is essential and takes a lot more than questionnaires.

So that's where we start, and we go deep.

My approach has two phases.

The first phase is deep self-discovery. We dig into your natural motivators, root talents, values, and what genuinely energizes you. Not just your transferable skills or what fits neatly on a resume. We go deeper: who you actually are, how you think, and what you need to thrive. All of that gets built into a visual model called your Personal Blueprint, a clear picture of you that we use to make better decisions going forward.

The second phase is exploration and planning. We use your Personal Blueprint to identify the kind of work you're built for, explore real options, and build a concrete transition plan you can actually execute.

A few things I believe that shape how I coach:

1. Most people end up in the wrong career because they never had a clear picture of who they are, what they're designed for, or what they actually need from work. It's a mismatch problem, not a motivation problem.
2. Feelings are data. Learning to listen to them is part of the process.
3. Real clarity comes from two places: data mining your own history (your accomplishments, peak moments, times when you were at your best) and deep one-on-one coaching sessions where we can surface what questionnaires and self-assessments miss.
4. Every client's journey is different. I don't use a one-size-fits-all playbook.

This is not job search coaching. I don't help with resumes, cover letters, or interview prep. What I do is more foundational: I help you figure out what you're actually designed for, so you can make career moves that are genuinely aligned with who you are.

Career Roadmap Session (2 hrs | $195 CAD)

A focused deep-dive into your situation, goals, and what's keeping you stuck. You leave with a clear picture of your options and a concrete next step. A good starting point if you want to get real value before committing to a longer program.

Talents Discovery Session ($349 CAD)

Two sessions (30 min + 1.5 hrs) focused on identifying your root talents — what makes you valuable, how you think, and what kind of work you're built to excel at.

Career Revisioning Program ($2,995 CAD)

My flagship program. Approximately 2.5 months of structured, one-on-one coaching across four phases: deep self-discovery, building your Personal Blueprint and Ideal Work Model, exploring real career options, and creating a transition plan. Roughly 18 hours of personal coaching included. Backed by a results guarantee: if you don't have a clear career direction by the end, I keep working with you until you do.

Professional and life experience

At 30, I was president of a software company with 13 staff, making good money, and quietly miserable. I had built something that looked successful from the outside and felt like a trap from the inside. Every day I showed up and performed a version of myself that didn't quite fit. I didn't have language for it then, but I know exactly what it was now: a mismatch between who I am and the work I was doing.

That experience changed everything. I left, spent time figuring out who I actually was, and discovered something I hadn't expected. I had a natural ability to see what was holding people back and what they needed to move forward. That became my life's work.

I've been a full-time career coach since 2011. I've worked with professionals across industries, career stages, and life situations, but the core problem is almost always the same: they don't have a clear enough picture of who they are to make good career decisions. My job is to fix that.

Over the years I've refined my methodology into a structured, proven program that goes deeper than any personality quiz or career assessment. I built it by studying psychology, peak performance, and human motivation for two decades — and by testing and refining it with hundreds of real clients. It works.

Entrepreneur before coach.

Before career coaching, I founded five businesses and one non-profit across industries including software, construction, manufacturing, and food service. I know what it's like to build something from nothing, to hire and lead a team, to fail, and to start over. That background shapes how I coach: I'm practical, direct, and focused on results, not just insight.

In 2022, I saw AI coming and made a deliberate choice: go deep or get left behind. I spent two years immersed in AI tools and consulting, earned multiple AI certifications, and built real hands-on experience.
