About Me

My whole adult life has consisted of finding solutions.  Starting out as a Music major in college, then pursuing a masters degrees in Theater and then an MFA in Film Producing, my whole foundation delt in the world of Creativity.  In those early years, to pay the rent, I started working as an educator.  This was great because it allowed me to help others to find solutions but it also gave me great vacation time.  So, I started traveling the world.  With all of those experiences, I decided to complete a PhD in World Arts and Culture from UCLA.  I believe that all of these "out of the box" experiences has positioned me to help others.

All of the traditional schooling,  as well as training as a coach, has supported me in understand the structure and processes of transformation.  Understanding how change works, I believe I help the people I world with to move faster and deeper.  Traveling the world, and learning new cultures and languages keeps my mind open and fresh.
As an academic coach, besides completing a doctorate at one of the top universities in the world, I have continued my pursuit of academic excellence.  I have completed three Group Projects in Morocco through the Fulbright Fellowship Program and I was selected as a participant in a summer institute through the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Having completed 6 marathons and having completed a 500-mile ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles for AIDS research, I am not afraid of hard work, even though I hope I am someone who is learning to work smarter and not necessarily harder.  Finally, my 30+ years working in public as a Restorative Justice advisor and as a college access coordinator for first generation college-going students adds to me ability to strengthen my years of practice as a coach.  I hope I get to meet you!

Coaching with me

How I like to coach

I like to start with my core belief that everyone has gifts and everyone is needed for what they bring.  I start there.  Then, I believe that the best coaches understand the power of questions.  As we have everything that we need to make positive change in the world, I continuously craft questions that help to facilitate my clients in reaching the greatest solutions and change that they seek for thier lives.
