Break the Cycle: Get to Know Yourself

Do you have ability to adapt and the positive attitude that can enable you to deal effectively with the challenges of everyday life?

We live in the decade where we face the following issues with our youth and adults despite numerous educational programmes:

  • Drug abuse
  • Sexual violence
  • Physical, verbal and psychological abuse
  • Suicides due to depression
  • Sexual diseases and
  • Family dysfunctionalities, to name a few

Why is that?

I think it is because we live in the decade of ignorance and negative mind-set. We have technology, education and yet we find ourselves facing issues that should be a walk in the park if we took time to know who we are.

We use technology such as social media in a negative way. This is where you see youth and adults posting inappropriate things on social media, women hating on each other instead of empowering each other.

Only when we start working on ourselves to know who we really are, will it become easy to become empowered to take positive action to deal and address these issues.

How to break the cycle

The reason the cycle keeps repeating itself is that we are not empowered to know ourselves. The pressures of life leave no time for us to work on ourselves. Below are the guidelines on how to start working on yourself to get to know who you are.

  • Define a life purpose for yourself (A life purpose is there to guide you through life. It reminds you of the reason you must push in life).
  • Set values, standards and rules for yourself
  • Love and accept yourself
  • Think positive things about your life
  • Remember failure is part of life, as long as you start again when you do, and learn from your mistakes.
  • Be grateful that you survived millions of sperm by making it first to the egg (There is a reason you are alive).

You are loved by the universe… start loving yourself as well and be AWESOME.
